
Allison McGuire

Allison McGuire, a native of Chicago, Illinois, began her professional career at the Visceral Dance Center. She participated in the Visceral Studio Company, followed by Visceral Dance Chicago as an apprentice. In 2017, she was awarded Modern Dance Finalist at YoungArts. Currently, Allison is in her final year of studies at The Juilliard School, where she has had the privilege of performing works by José Limón and Alejandro Cerrudo and new creations by Bryan Arias, Nelly Van Bommel, Andrea Miller, and Matthew Neenan. During Allison’s tenure at school, she was accepted into PEPS Outreach Program, where she performed Jerome Robbins’ Afternoon of a Fawn. Over the years, Allison has spent her summers away from home participating in intensives including Movement Invention Project, Alonzo King LINES, Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Program, and most recently, Orsolina28 Forsythe/Pite Program. At these intensives, Allison has performed the work of Crystal Pite, Cayetano Soto, Didy Veldman, and Ronald K. Brown. Allison was recently commissioned to work for ISHIDA Dance Company on a 2020 project with a 2021 projected performance. Throughout the pandemic, Allison continues to develop her artistry through her love for painting, photography, and poetry. Her inner child is able to run free in the non-confined beauty of art.
