Jack Murphy is originally from Novi, Michigan. He began dancing at the age of six by the suggestion of his mother after being wildly unsuccessful in sports. To this day, he doesn’t understand the rules of football. After graduating high school, Jack became a trainee at the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago before beginning his four years at The Juilliard School. While a student at Juilliard, his work Pink Narcissist was presented in The Invisible Dog’s “Pride Music Video Festival” curated by Raja Feather Kelly. He also had his work Life in Plastic, it’s Fantastic! presented as part of the White Wave SoloDuo Dance Festival 2020. A psychic told Jack before his Juilliard audition that he would get into the school, but only attend for three years. Maybe she saw this pandemic coming and thought Jack would throw in the towel, but still, he perseveres! In his free time Jack enjoys shopping at Trader Joes, creating TikTok videos, and listening to Björk. Jack loves bringing his imaginative world to life through performance and is so honored to be choreographing for his class’s Senior Production!
