Johnny Hackett, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, began his dance journey at a very young age. At age twelve, he joined a competitive dance team where he fell in love with dancing and then later attended the Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education to further his dance studies. Johnny is currently a student at The Juilliard School, where he will receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. At Juilliard, he has served in many leadership roles, such as being a choreographic assistant and demonstrator for the Juilliard Summer Program, a resident assistant, and assistant wardrobe supervisor in the costume shop. He has attended summer programs at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, Arts Umbrella, and the Alonzo King LINES Summer Program. Throughout his training, Johnny has worked with choreographers such as Bryan Arias, Andrea Miller, Gregory Dawson, Matthew Neenan, and most recently, Ohad Naharin. He has also performed repertoire by Martha Graham, José Limón, and Mats Ek. Throughout his time at Juilliard and abroad, he has learned choreographic excerpts from notable choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jiři Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Bill T. Jones, Alonzo King, and Nacho Duato. After graduation, Johnny hopes to join a repertory dance company where he can grow as an artist and continue to dance his way through life.
