she/her/hers

Lanie Jackson, from Dallas, Texas, began her dance training at age nine at the Dallas Ballet Center under the direction of Judy and Brent Klopfenstein. While in high school, she was a member of the Dallas Ballet Company, where she had the chance to explore her artistic voice in performance and creative process. Lanie danced lead roles in classical ballets, including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, and in new works by choreographers such as Jason Fowler, Silas Farley, Laura Barbee, and Catherine Lewellen-Livengood. Lanie has fallen in love with the art of teaching ballet at the Dallas Ballet Center. She successfully staged many works by choreographer Jason Fowler on the Dallas Ballet Company. While attending The Juilliard School, under the Artistic Directorships of Lawrence Rhodes, Taryn Kashock- Russell, and Alicia Graf Mack, she has trained with prominent names while studying various modern and contemporary techniques. Lanie has continued to learn from choreographers, including John Heginbotham, Gentian Doda, Andrea Miller, and Matthew Neenan, who created for Juilliard’s New Dances program. In her senior year at Juilliard, Lanie is excited to find her place in the dance world and share her passion with everyone she encounters.
