
Michael Garcia

Michael Garcia began dancing at the age of seven and trained at many schools across the state of Texas, most notably Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Dance Industry Performing Arts Center. He is now completing his BFA in dance from The Juilliard School. As a dancer, Michael is a YoungArts alumnus, the Paul Baker Memorial Scholarship recipient, the Irene Diamond Scholarship, and a New York City Dance Alliance Foundation Scholarship awardee. He has been fortunate to work creatively with artists such as Bryan Arias, Andrea Miller, Jessica Hendricks, Benoit-Swan Pouffer, Shannon Gillen-Lipinski, and Loni Landon, as well as perform repertory by notable choreographers Donald McKayle, José Limón, Dwight Rhoden, Lar Lubovitch, Robert Battle, and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. As a choreographer, he has received an Outstanding Choreography award from Youth America Grand Prix and has presented his work at Steps Industry professional Showcase and Juilliard’s Choreographic Honors.
