
Zane Unger
he/him/his

A native of Dallas, Texas, Zane Unger is a current fourth-year dance major at The Juilliard School and 2017 alumni of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Zane was named a 2018 YoungArts Finalist in Modern Dance and a 2016 Texas Young Master in Dance. Throughout his career, Zane has rehearsed and performed repertory including Martha Graham's Rite of Spring, Donald McKayle's Rainbow Round’ My Shoulder, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Delicious Pesticides, Aszure Barton's Busk, along with works by José Limón, Lar Lubovitch, and Dwight Rhoden. Zane has been a part of new choreographic works with choreographers such as Bryan Arias, Bret Easterling, and Andrea Miller. In the summer of 2019, Zane attended Jacob's Pillow Contemporary Program, where he had the opportunity to work with choreographers Darrell Grand Moultrie, Jae Man Joo, and Didi Veldman. This year, Zane has been selected as one of seven students in his class to be a choreographer for the Senior Production process. During this project, he will choreograph for three months to create a world premiere. Zane has also had his works performed in Choreographers and Composers and Choreographic Honors productions. Zane hopes to continue growing and learning while studying at Juilliard for the remaining year and is excited for what is to come.
